Submission Guidelines
Information for authors preparing manuscripts for peer review and publication.
Scope & Aims
Blue Terra Longevity Review publishes evidence-based reviews, clinical case reports, and editorials at the intersection of longevity medicine, stress recovery, clinical wellness, and burnout.
We welcome submissions that translate peer-reviewed research into clinically actionable knowledge for physicians, researchers, and informed practitioners working in preventive and performance-oriented medicine.
Priority topics include: NAD+ biology and repletion strategies, HPA axis dysregulation and burnout pathophysiology, comprehensive biomarker diagnostics, oxidative stress and mitochondrial function, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, sleep architecture and circadian medicine, and epigenetic age modification.
Article Types
Review Articles — Systematic or narrative reviews of published literature on a defined clinical question. 3,000-6,000 words excluding references. Structured abstract required.
Clinical Case Reports — Detailed reports of individual or series-based clinical observations with measurable outcomes. 1,500-3,000 words. Informed consent documentation required.
Editorials — Invited perspective pieces from members of the editorial board or guest contributors. 1,000-2,000 words. No abstract required.
Formatting Requirements
Structured abstract: All review articles must include a structured abstract with four sections — Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion — not exceeding 300 words.
References: Vancouver citation style. Number references consecutively in order of first appearance in the text. Use square brackets [1] for in-text citations.
Word count: Review articles 3,000-6,000 words. Case reports 1,500-3,000 words. Editorials 1,000-2,000 words. All word counts exclude references and figure legends.
Figures and tables: Submit as separate high-resolution files (minimum 300 dpi). Include descriptive legends. Maximum 6 figures/tables per article.
Language: British English. Use SI units throughout. Define abbreviations at first use.
Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo single-blind peer review. Authors are blinded to reviewer identities; reviewers have access to author information.
Each manuscript is evaluated by a minimum of 2 independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant clinical domain.
Target turnaround: 4 weeks from submission to first decision. Authors receive structured reviewer feedback with one of four decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
Revised manuscripts should be returned within 14 days (minor revisions) or 30 days (major revisions), accompanied by a point-by-point response to reviewer comments.
Ethics & Declarations
All research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Studies must have received approval from an appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee.
Informed consent: Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants. For case reports, patients (or legal guardians) must provide written consent for publication.
Conflicts of interest: All authors must declare any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest. Declarations are published alongside the article.
Authorship: All listed authors must meet ICMJE authorship criteria — substantial contribution to conception/design or data acquisition/analysis, drafting or critical revision, final approval, and accountability for all aspects of the work.
Open Access Policy
Blue Terra Longevity Review is a fully open access journal. All published articles are freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Authors retain copyright of their work. Readers may share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and adapt, remix, and build upon the material for any purpose, provided appropriate credit is given.
Article Processing Charges (APC): No APC for the first year of publication (Volume 1, 2026). Future pricing will be announced in advance of Volume 2.
